Who are FreightSnap?
FreightSnap, based in Kansas USA, is dedicated to developing affordable, disruptive dimensioning solutions that automate traditional manual operations, significantly boosting productivity and scalability.
Their unique approach focuses on understanding customers’ processes and tailoring dimensioning solutions to enhance productivity without compromising product quality.
In 2012, FreightSnap founders created a software product using Google Earth to measure rooftops, yards, and outdoor walls for home improvement projects. They ran pilots to gain feedback and applied for a U.S. Patent, which was later granted. During this time, logistics industry executives saw potential applications for the technology in measuring and dimensioning freight, prompting the founders to pivot.
Beginnings in Tech:
From Rooftops to the Road
Recognising the industry’s shift towards density-based pricing, FreightSnap founders began developing a smartphone system to measure pallets. Realising the need for higher capacity dimensioning, they then turned to infrared technology as a cost-effective alternative to expensive laser products. This led to the founding of FreightSnap in 2013.
