Six Ways the Freightsnap FS5000 is Disrupting Pallet Dimensioning in the Supply Chain

The Freightsnap FS5000 pallet dimensioner  is a fully automated Pallet Dimensioning System which has been certified for legal for trade use in 64 Countries around the world through specific testing by Australian National Measurement Institute, NTEP, OIML, and Measurement Canada. It can accurately measure freight sitting on a scale, a forklift, under a pallet wrapper, or on the floor.

The FS 5000 offers a variety of technology and affordability benefits and is disrupting the legal for trade pallet dimensioning sector. The FS5000 is the most implemented pallet dimensioning solution in North America since 2015.

Here are six ways the Freightsnap FS5000 is disrupting pallet dimensioning in the Australian and global supply chain sector.

Affordability
– At its heart Freightsnap LLC is a Software Engineering company. As such, Freightsnap use innovative proprietary software to make standard industrial hardware, like the German-made IFM sensors, deliver world-class measurement performance.

Working in close collaboration with IFM HQ, Freightsnap have designed and delivered to market the lowest investment level legal for trade pallet dimensioner on the Australian market. This means that potential users who have been priced out of the market by legacy technology can now enjoy the benefits of automated pallet freight weight and cubic measurement data and image capture at a much lower investment level.

Technology – The Freightsnap FS5000 pallet dimensioner incorporates an industrial, German-made, photoelectric, infrared 3D sensor from IFM Electronic gmbh. IFM is a German headquartered technology company with over 8,000 global employees and over 1-billion-euro annual turnover. The IFM Infrared 3D sensors are suited for many different applications, such as volume, distance, and level detection. They measure the distance between the sensor and the nearest surface point by point using the time-of-flight principle. The sensors illuminate the scene with an internal infrared light source that calculates the distance by means of the light reflected from the surface and creates a corresponding point cloud with the LWH measurements.

Cloud Portal & Systems Integration – The shipment information collected by the FS5000 pallet dimensioner will be stored on the FreightSnap Cloud. You can access this information at any time through our DMS portal by logging into your account via a unique username and password. FreightSnap’s Cloud is hosted on Amazon’s secure S3 Cloud Platform, which uses 3 forms of encryption to protect your information. No need to invest in expensive IT resources to manage your servers and data.

Use our API along with your pallet dimensioner to pull your data down from one of our Cloud Storage Solutions into your preferred back-office system. Or use our Web Service to push dimensional data and photos from you dimensioner straight to your own servers using a JSON, SOAP, or RESTful web service. From there, you are in control of parsing the data into your systems as desired. FreightSnap will send captured image files (jpeg, png, etc.) containing the appropriate meta data to your servers – then you are able to decide how to parse the data into your systems.

FS360 App for mobile devices – this supplemental data and image capture using your mobile devices puts an operator touch screen control function in the palm of your hand. Built for iOS and Android mobile devices including Honeywell, Symbol, Cypher Lab, Zebra, Motorola, and more; or your Apple or Android OS mobile phone. The FS360 App enables an operator or supervisor to input additional fields and images and merge this with the FS5000 pallet dimensioner captured data.  To get the FS360 App Guide click here.

Design – lightweight but heavy-duty, with no moving parts, the FS5000 design means that the complete system weighs less than 50 kg and can be supported by a jib-crane style mounting apparatus that allows for full area clearance and four metres of height clearance. This design is less obtrusive than other legacy systems and provides great clearance areas for forklift traffic.

Warranty Five Year Limited Warranty on IFM Sensors. NWI Group, FreightSnap USA, and IFM Electronic GMBH stand behind our products.

The IFM O3D sensors supplied as part of the integrated FreightSnap FS5000 Pallet Dimensioning System carry a five-year manufacturer’s OEM warranty against faulty workmanship and/or parts from the time of system installation. As there are no moving parts on the FS5000 this means your pallet dimensioner will require very little, if any, maintenance or field service. This, combined with the five-year manufacturer sensor warranty, provides users with improved performance – and peace of mind.
